Brief Company Profile

This web-based facts book is aimed to help give an understanding of the CSR group. It supplements other information available on this site, including the CSR Annual Report and other information for shareholders.

CSR is one of Australia’s leading building products companies.  CSR holds an effective 25% interest in the Tomago aluminium smelter.  CSR is also developing a number of former industrial sites for future land sales.

Originally founded in 1855 as a sugar company, CSR is one of Australia’s oldest companies, with a proven record of consistent returns and strong cash flow.

CSR manufactures and supplies a wide range of building products including Gyprock™ plasterboard, Cemintel™ fibre cement, PGH™ bricks, Monier™ rooftiles, Bradford™ insulation and Viridian™ glass with 35 wholly owned or majority owned manufacturing plants in Australia and operations in New Zealand and Asia.

In December 2010 CSR sold its sugar and renewable energy company - Sucrogen - to Wilmar International.  Go to www.sucrogen.com.au to view more information about their products.
